Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 hardware SKUs ranked outside the top 30 sales at Amazon.com on Wed., days after the company price cut the product line.
On Wed., the highest ranking Xbox 360 SKU, the $399 Elite, ranked at No. 34.
Meanwhile, the $299 Pro SKU ranked at No. 38 and the $199 Arcade SKU ranked at No. 49.
All three hardware offerings initially experienced a sales surge following a price cut on Sept. 5. Hardware prices have been discounted between $50 and $80.
However, the 360 lineup has been unable to sustain top sales at Amazon.
By comparison, Nintendo Co.’s Wii ranked at No. 9 and Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 ranked at No. 5.
Amazon.com this month began offering a free $60 gift card with the purchase of the Xbox 360 Elite to increase sales of the high-end SKU.
Microsoft will reportedly discount Xbox 360 prices in Japan between 5,000 and 8,000 yen per model in Oct.
Sony in Sept. began offering a $399 PS3 80GB model. In Nov. it will sell a 160GB product for $499.
